This was a heavily disputed trial in Van Nuys California. The case involved a slip and fall at a popular cosmetics store in Hollywood. Our client slipped on freshly mopped floors without any warning that the floors were wet. She landed on her tailbone resulting in a lumbar back injury that developed into complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), an autoimmune response of the body that is known to be very painful. Defendants denied all liability and turned down our demands to settle the case for $1 million dollars prior to trial. A two-week trial ensued on liability and damages, ultimately resulting in the jury finding Defendants 100% at fault and awarding substantial damages to the plaintiff.
