About Jeremy

Personal Bio

Jeremy is an award-winning attorney who has dedicated his legal career to mastering the crafts of legal research, writing, and strategy. His efforts have paid off, as the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego gave him the President’s Award in 2016 and named him Consumer Advocate of the year in 2021 for his precedent-setting success in Bolger v. Amazon.com (2020) 53 Cal.App.5th 431. That case result sent shockwaves through the media, catching the attention of industry titans such as Bloomberg, The Washington Post, The New York Times, USA Today, CNBC, and many other national and international news and tech outlets. Jeremy has also twice been a runner-up for CAOC’s Consumer Attorney of the Year award (third time’s a charm).

Jeremy also helped co-author, with national advocacy group Public Justice, amicus briefs in other key appeals involving Amazon, Oberdorf v. Amazon.com Inc., 930 F.3d 136, rehearing en banc granted and opinion vacated, 936 F.3d 182 (3rd Cir. 2019), McMillan v. Amazon.com, Inc., 983 F.3d 194 (5th Cir. 2020), and Amazon.com, Inc. v. McMillan, 625 S.W.3d 101 (Tex. 2021). And he secured a key ruling in M.F. v. Pacific Pearly Hotel Management, LLC (2017) 16 Cal.App.5th 693, a case in which Jeremy successfully urged the expansion of FEHA provisions to a rape committed by an intruder on the premises. In addition to being admitted to all courts in California, he also has admissions to the Third, Fifth, and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Beyond the published matters, during his 27-year legal career Jeremy has helped steer hundreds of difficult cases, each with their own set of challenges, to successful resolution. Many of these cases were against large, powerful business interests.

Outside of his case work, Jeremy is a prolific and in-demand writer and speaker on emerging legal issues. This includes regular articles for the Daily Journal and Daily Transcript, many CLE-approved presentations and webinars, and a book chapter. A full CV is available here.

But there’s more! Jeremy is also a musician (who should be winning awards, the people giving out awards just haven’t realized it yet), a quilt husband, a father of two, and a puzzle fanatic. He also likes cats.
