SHK Welcomes 2022 COAC Consumer Attorney of the Year Nominee Jeremy Robinson to Legal Team

SHK is proud to announce the addition of Jeremy K. Robinson, an award-winning attorney whose groundbreaking victories in consumer protection law have reshaped the legal landscape of e-commerce liability in California. Robinson’s joining marks a significant expansion of SHK’s commitment to exceptional legal advocacy and consumer rights protection.

Robinson comes to SHK with an impressive track record of precedent-setting victories, including his revolutionary success in Bolger v. Amazon.com, LLC. The case challenged Amazon’s previous immunity from liability for third-party products, resulting in the first state appellate decision of its kind nationwide. This groundbreaking ruling established that online marketplaces could be held strictly liable for defective third-party products, significantly advancing consumer protection in the digital age. The case’s significance drew international media attention, with coverage from major outlets including Bloomberg, The Washington Post, The New York Times, USA Today, and CNBC.

Robinson’s work on the Bolger case earned him recognition as Consumer Advocate of the Year in 2021 from the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and in 2022, he was selected as a finalist for the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) Consumer Attorney of the Year award.

“Jeremy’s addition to our team reflects SHK’s dedication to providing our clients with representation of the highest caliber,” said Adam Savin. “His proven ability to take on industry giants and secure landmark victories aligns perfectly with our mission to advocate for consumer rights and justice.”

Throughout his 27-year legal career, Robinson has demonstrated exceptional skill in legal research, writing, and strategy. His expertise extends beyond the Bolger case, including his collaboration with the national advocacy group Public Justice on crucial amicus briefs in other significant Amazon-related appeals: Oberdorf v. Amazon.com Inc., McMillan v. Amazon.com, Inc., and Amazon.com, Inc. v. McMillan. He also secured a key ruling in M.F. v. Pacific Pearly Hotel Management, LLC, successfully expanding FEHA provisions in premises liability cases.

With hundreds of successfully resolved cases against powerful business interests, Robinson brings to SHK not only his legal expertise but also a proven commitment to taking on challenging cases that advance consumer rights. His addition to the firm strengthens SHK’s position as a leading advocate for consumer protection and complex litigation in California.
