Our client was injured when a bench collapsed beneath her, causing what initially seemed like a simple wrist sprain. Over time, however, her pain worsened and became disproportionate to the initial injury. She was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a rare and debilitating nerve condition that causes severe pain and sensitivity in the affected extremity. CRPS is a condition that few doctors, and even fewer lawyers, truly understand.
When SHK Law came into the case, it was on the eve of trial. The client had been pressured by her former lawyer to accept a low six-figure settlement and was told she would have to pay for her own expert witnesses. Then, he abandoned her.
Fortunately, she found our firm. We immediately went to work, correcting major problems in the prior case workup and preparing the case properly for trial.
