Our client tripped on the sidewalk in front of his mother’s house that had been neglected by the city for over two decades. Our client had two shoulder surgeries and injuries to his face from the fall. The city argued that our client was not paying attention and that he knew the sidewalk was dangerous outside his mother’s home. The city also argued that our client had been drinking wine at dinner and left the house at night without his prescription glasses. We were able to prove that the city had notice of the dangerous condition and it was ultimately their responsibility to keep it safe for pedestrians.
