This case involved an illegal U-turn made by the defendant driver in front of our client who was on a motorcycle in San Diego. Our client sustained a mild traumatic brain injury. The defense argued that our client was speeding. They further argued the “he doesn’t look that injured” defense. Using our approach of spending time and listening to our clients, who they were, and what they lost, we were able to clearly articulate our client’s story to the defense. Our client’s prior lawyer spent such little time with him, that the prior lawyer did not even know that he was in the Navy on track to become a Navy Seal. We anchored our human loss story on our client’s journey and sacrifices made to become a Navy Seal – a dream that was crushed as a result of the defendant’s negligence. The defense paid $1.25 million shorty after when the top offer with the prior attorney was only $100,000.
