This was a civil settlement against an uninsured property owner who hired unlicensed contractors for a remodel. Our client fell from scaffolding that was improperly erected on his first day on the job. There was no insurance coverage for this type of accident. A lesson to all – always check that a contractor’s license and insurance are up to date. After some heavy negotiations at mediation, we reached a settlement with the property owner.
